AMy rehersal dinner for my wedding is on Friday I have time on Thursday night to make 36 cupcakes for the dinner. I am going to do my oreo cookies and cream I make a vanilla cupcake batter and put in crushed Oreos into the batter. For the buttercream I normally crush finely the Oreos and mix it in but I wanted to color the buttercream a turquoise to match the wedding colors.

My question is do you think that with the oreo crumbs in the blue buttercream will it look bad I also top a whole oreo on top of it

not bad but maybe a little off putting -- if you're going to all that trouble -- here's a coupla possibilities:

  • what if you dipped the oreo that goes on top in turquoise colored chocolate?
  • eliminate the crushed oreos in the icing & use all turquoise but apply the crushed oreos to the edges of the cupcakes so they look bordered in choco
  • set the baked cupcakes in turquoise colored wrappers
  • dollop or drizzle some turquoise colored icing on top of your regular icing

i like the last two best and you could drizzle it on the oreo cookie too --

you sure you wanna go to all that trouble at this point in your event planning during your big week? kudos to you!

best wishes on the loveliest wedding and yummiest happily ever after cupcakes
