Where do you buy High Ration Shortening from? Which brand is the best?

I order my hi ratio shortening from KitchenKrafts.com. They sell it in 3lb tubs. I have found their price to be the most reasonable, since I can't use the 50 lb containers that most places sell

I like Sweetex and have to buy it on-line as we don't have a cake supply store in our city.  I don't think Sweetex ist as greasy tasting as others I've used.  Google it and check for the places that might be closest to you if you don't have a cake supply store near you.

Lovelymeets, Inga1 and kin1182, rather than pay the price of the 3 pound containers of Hi-ratio shortening why not buy the 50lb box. Perhaps there is someone in your area that would be glad to go halves on a box. If not many of us slice it into blocks and put the extra blocks in the freezer. You will find that it does not take long to go through that 3 lbs and then you have to order again, shipping is a killer and did not look to see where you live hot weather will melt it before it gets to you.  See if you have a Gordon's Food Service anywhere reasonably close to you and you can just drive to it and pick it up. No card is needed to purchase from them and they have other bakery items as well.  If you do have on within a decent driving distance, call and confirm they have the hi-ratio in stock. If you are in an area of the country that have basements it cans stay down there as it will be cool but either way I've kept it both ways for a year.

Looks like we have a GFS Marketplace not far from me. I will have to see if they carry the shortening. Thanks for the advice Cakegrandma

GFS carries the Wesson brand, not in stock, but by order.  Has anyone tried this brand?  What are your reviews?

I buy it at GFS also. They don't carry it in the store. I had to call and order it, took about two weeks, then I went to pick it up. It's a 50 pound block that comes in a plastic bag that's in a heavy cardboard box. I put some in a small tub that I can keep in a kitchen cabinet and I just keep refilling that.
