When I sell cupcakes the best sellers are carrot, oreo, chocolate peanut butter and cookie dough

Ha ha, trying to start cupcake flavor wars? ;-)

Flavor preference depends on the person/region you're in. My personal favorite is vanilla topped with vanilla icing, no sprinkles... I like 'em plain. But if I was going to splurge, I'd probably opt for a chocolate espresso one... I did get good reviews when I turned a 5-flavor pound cake into cupcakes. People here loved the flavor (equal amounts of vanilla, coconut, butter, lemon, and almond extracts). Lemon/orange flavors are always a hit here in Florida though (we do grow a lot of citrus, lols).

Okay. I'll be selling some cupcakes this weekend. But I cant seem to decide between carrot and red velvet. But I have never tasted it myself, so I dont know what red velvet taste like...

Seems to be very popular tho.

Just curious... If you have never tasted Red Velvet, and don't know what it tastes like, how will you know if your flavor profile is close to your product's name?

True. But I'd just have to follow a recipe and try to best to make it taste good. Red velvet is not popular here, so theres no way for me to taste it. I've never seen anyone make it in my country. If I always have to taste things, before I make them, then I'd never be able to bake anything at all...

Coffee! I know some people don't want the caffeine in it, so decaf works just as well. It's a beautiful flavour though and has that lovely balance between sweetness and bitterness, a bit like a citrus flavour or dark chocolate. For me, that stops the cupcake from being too cloying, especially if there's a lot of buttercream involved!

If it's not popular then why make it? but someone said coffee, so here I am! I love love love coffee flavored goodies! Look at the popular drinks in your area and try a few flavors translated to cupcakes, like Mocha latte (chocolate cupcake with instant coffee), strawberry lemonade (strawberry cupcake with lemon icing or vice versa) for example. And you can always make a small batches of mini cupcakes, if you like the flavor of that batch then use those minis as free samples ;)

By the way, how did it go? What flavors did you end up doing?

Edit: I just realized my post makes me sound coffee deprived, sorry about that, I kind of am.... lols
