Ok, so Wilton has changed their fondant...it's soft and tastes better, but it doesn't DRY! They solved one problem but created another. I put a ton of Tylose in it to make figures and it just doesn't dry. Anyone else having this problem? This will get expensive if I have to add that much Tylose every time. Now what?

K8, i keep forgetting to thank u! I tried using cornstarch to make characters and cupcake toppers! And yes! It does get the job done!!!! I read your tip from another post and i am so glad i tried it! I can't get tylose here where i live, and wilton gumpaste is quite pricey. So yay for cornstarch! Downside is it does get pretty messy! Hahaha ;)

Anyway, thanks again!

you're welcome! it is messy--i bought a huge supply that came in a tub that had a seal under the lid so i just removed half the seal so i can use that remaining part as a straight edge to try & control it and i also have a shaker i keep some in too--like a cheese shaker or a stainless steel cinnamon shaker

also if you can get wilton -- they make this:

http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?sku=417-106 if you can get wilton products--

and some of us use a brand new stocking to put cornstarch in so you can just fluff some out as needed--i mean i use several tablespoons to a lump of fondant to make bows or to model with but sometimes you just need a little dusting so there's some idears for yeh

oh and for years i kept some in a little flat bottomed strainer sitting on a little saucer which made it perfect to hold over my work and tap the side and voila--

too much cornstarch info for you hahaha
