Mystery Dots On Wedding Cake

HELP! I have used white Pettinice for a wedding cake and left it iced for the big day, but now I can see appearing very small mainly red and a few green dots, how come and what can I do?

Could it be that I (loosely though) covered the iced but for the rest un-decorated cake with glad wrap for the night?
