Here we go again!  I have a mother who is asking for two cakes, one for a daughter graduating Jr. High, and the other for a daughter graduating University. This is her message to me about what she wants on each cake.  Any ideas? Each cake has to feed 40.

Grad from University: Degrees in English, history, communications, and geography she works as an editor at an online magazine. She loves chocolate, likes to run, has a thing for elephants

grad from gr 8. Likes volleyball, cats (her cat is black and called Prince ). boxing and loves high heeled shoes. Her fav color is blue

also I would like to keep cost under $75.00 per cake please

My suggestion given how much the customer wants to spend is to buy already made decorations.  I would not venture to make fondant / gumpaste decorations when they only want to pay <$75.  This is not even $2 per serving ($2 X 40 = $80). I have done 40 servings with a 2 TIER cake- 3 layer 8 " with a 3 layer 6".

AI agree with Ropalma...I would purchase the premade decorations. She's asking for a lot to only want to spend $75 per cake (meaning if you were to hand make some of the decor!). Is she asking for the cake to be layered with fondant? That's a really tight budget based in the request.
