OH OUCH!!!!!!! You can't be serious????
I am a girl/woman/broad/chick/female and I used to be a technician--heating/air-condidtioning. As a teenager I could always be found under my own car wrenching on something. My mother worked in a machine shop.
I am a huge Nascar fan and love to camp in the outback.
Could I get any more dude-ish????????

Besides Duff is a fun and funny guy and because he is open to new things and works outside the box(not a Martha fan) any gender would be fine by him I'm sure................

OK I'll get off my soap box now tapedshut.gif , LOL.

Anyone gotten SPAM mail after they've entered? I just hate it when you give out your email address only to find 50 emails in one hour from "people" you don't know! icon_mad.gif

I told DH this evening that I entered last night and I asked him how he would feel about me being gone for a whole week should I win. His sincere comment was....."I'd really be jealous". LOL He's really starting to enjoy being a part of working with me. I done a wedding consulation yesterday that lasted 3-1/2 hours because he had to come talk to them too. I was so tired. LOL. He's also made his own cake all by himself that I uploaded in my gallery that he's super proud of. He's the Assistant Pastor of our church, but he's also a Diesel Mach. and he tells all those guys on the job that he's gonna retire and work with mama making cakes.......LOL Gotta love em! Sure is nice I'll have me a great partner when he finally does retire. I think he'll be great and that's what's scary. I may end up having to sweep floors and wash pans and those nasty little tips we all hate to clean for HIM. YIKES!!!!

Keep up the good work. thumbs_up.gif I have lost 73 in 1 yr and put back on 25 yuk icon_redface.gif lol so I am now working on losing that 25 again and 10 more than that for a total of 35

Yes, I have. I had lost 186.5, but put 51 lbs back on so now I'm getting scared and trying HARD to get back on track. It's not as easy now, but I came to far to give up now. CONGRATS on yours, and keep working. It's truly worth it all. At one time I had just come to the point that I thought this is all that life was gonna be, but now I feel like I'm just now starting to really live. I can actually run and play with the grandbabies and that right there is worth it all to me. Don't stop trying, there's no place to turn around worth going back to now. Good Luck!

OH great idea, now why didn't I think of that espically after him telling me he'd be jealous if I did win. Now my DH would be tickled to death to get to go, but I think he'd die laughing that he won over me. He'd NEVER let me forget it either. I don't care, I'm gonna go enter him anyway. Like ErinOBrien said, I'd just send him with a camera! LOL

Anyone else sometimes Duff just doesn't look like he does any of the real work but takes all the credit when he delivers the cake? I think the bakery's work is amazing but I think its more his team than just him. I dunno....

I think what makes charmcity cakes so great is they're a collaborative effort with everyone doing what they do best to achieve fantastical results. That's says something all of them to be able to work togther to pull all off and do such a good job. Although they should show more of mistakes and not so good surprises to keep it real. No one has a perfect cake/day all the time.

StandingForJesus:

I entered too and when I told MY husband (he's MY technological advisor!!) he said "That would be so cool! You would love it! "

I've thought about my cousin and I going on a "traveling" vacation and visiting from MD all the way to Brooklyn NY. From Duff to Jacques Torres!! Of course, my cousin (the "savory" one) would want to make a detour and see Barefoot Contessa!

Think we can do this in a week or 10 days? LOLL

Oh I don't know if you could do that in a week or 10 days or not. I just think we should rent some tour buses and ALL go! LOL Remember the show where Duff had all the girl scouts? Wonder what he would do with a few buses full or CC'ers? LOL

I agree. I rarely see him making a cake; it's always Geoff and the other cake decorators. . .he just oversees. He's the executive chef, so he gets all the credit. icon_cool.gif

I'm guessing you can't. I'veseen them make a big point of that in many of his shows. Seems like (undertandably) they don't want people showing up to the shop randomly (I'm guessing if you order a cake, it would be ok).

Yeah JMT - I've thought of just that. If I lived close enough to them, I'd just HAVE to order a cake for "pickup", just to get inside his doors and while I was there, I would just have to tell him how I'd like to meet everyone.

Your right about dropping in being off limits, even in the shows opening, they show a sign that read's "BY APPOINTMENT ONLY".

Yes sirrrrieeeee...............45 minutes away would be an appointment for me for sure! LOL
