How Do I Make The Blue Ice Shards For A 'frozen' Movie Cake
Sugar Work By kyliecake Updated 23 Aug 2014 , 5:35am by kyliecake
any ideas on how to make the ice? is it isomalt, boiled and coloured soft fondant or a toffee coloured? i need to make some for next week. thankyou in advance!
I would use this recipe karosyrup.com/recipe_, tint it blue, and pour it onto a cookie sheet covered in wax paper. Then carefully cut or break the pieces. HTH

Scroll down to "blue ice candy decorations."
I would pour the melted sugar etc. onto a Silpat or foil in a cookie sheet with sides or other pan with sides.
thanks everyone, i will certainly give it a go. How long does it last? does it go soft the longer it is left out or does it stay hard like toffee?
If you use Isomalt it will be clearer than poured sugar. Both will look good.. and last long enough. There are lots of tutorials on the web. Just be careful with both, as they are HOT and the burns hurt. Though, I found my isomalt burns to be worse than poured sugar burns...
Have fun!
