I am going to make my own fondant for the first time for my grand-daughters birthday cake for next Saturday. How far in advance can I make it, and how do I store it so it is still workable?

AYou can make it now. It lasts for months. Lifhtly rub with shortening, wrap in two layers of plastic wrap, then plop in a zipper bag.

AI shelf mine... No perishable ingredients. Just used some small bits from a cake I made 3 weeks ago and it worked and still tasted like a charm.
