ACan they be glazed when they have already been drying for a few days and what is best to use?

I would like the hair to look a bit shinier and also it seems to have dust stuck to it (black hair)

I'm sure they can be glazed with a confectioner's glaze of some type.  I personally don't use glazes, but some do. 

How about just steaming them? Steaming will give them a nice overall sheen without being really shiny and will make the dust (I'm assuming you mean petal dust rather than household) blend into the piece.

Just bring a pot of water to a boil (or use a hand-held steamer if you have one) and make a couple passes through the steam...don't overly wet the piece...then let it dry.

When I want a shiny finish on my gumpaste pieces, I mix vodka & corn syrup and brush it on.  It does take a little while to dry but leaves a very shiny finish.

Household dust is made of dirt, pollen, human skin and hair follicles, pet dander, pollen, sand, insect husks and pollutants.

As I said in another thread...I try to use only things I can find in my cubbard and I hate to spend a lot of money on things I will only use once in like 6 months. It's a waste. So while I was making a Police hat that had to have a shiny brim and strap, I took the suggestions some people gave me. Like...vodka-which made it shiny for about a day and half. This is would be fine if you are serving the cake right away. Vodka and melted shortening. Same thing. What really made it super shiny was just CRISCO. I just rubbed the pieces with a bit (not much at all) of Crisco shortening and it was awesome. You can see my Cop Cake in Graduations (Cake Central). I will definitely use this again and recommend it to everyone!
