I have an order for 6 dozen cake pops, and my client wants a marine life theme. I found a silicone mold made by Wilton that has different types of sea life: coral, starfish, shells, etc. Because they are cake pops, I would rather use chocolate melts as opposed to fondant or gum paste (since a lot people are not fans of decorations made from those mediums). Can I use candy melts in the Sea Life silicone mold? Will the shapes still pop out? Thank you for any help!!

Try it. See what happens. Maybe rub the inside with a little shortening first.

I have never used candy melts in those silicone molds (most of my molds are metal) but it should work.  I would put in the fridge to set up, then it should pop easily.  If you want them to be soft so they can wrap around a curve, you might want to use candy clay instead, then you would just prepare it as you would fondant.

AYes, silicone works for candy melts. You can gently pull the silicone away from the candy to release it rather than whacking it on the counter like a regular clear plastic candy mold.
