AHey sorry in advance this is my first cake attempt. I'm trying to make a Lego cake for my son's birthday. I thought it would be easier to use a silicone mould for the bricks and figures to decorate the cake. I've triedefondant but with no luck on getting the shape out and I don't really think the taste is good, I think it would be a bit sickly even though it's just decorations. I was wondering if anyone could give me ideas of what else I could use or do? Thankyou x

making them out of chocolate (melted, colored and poured in the mold) or candy melts (don't know what they taste like cause i've never used them since we have good chocolate here)

Hi,

Try making them out of model / flower paste then popping them in the freezer for 30 mins or so.

This works for me when making baby moulds etc.

Hope it helps

Model/flower paste tastes even worse than fondant.  It has a bitter taste that kids generally do not like.  I agree with H2o, if you want them to taste good make them out of chocolate.  You can buy white and color it.
