My grandma is turning 90 next month, and I am doing her cake (and cupcakes) for her big party.

Her party is flower/garden themed, and for the cupcakes I wanted to make them look like mini terra cotta flower pots, WITHOUT using fondant, as my mom wants little fondant as possible on the cake(s).

What I'm looking for are cupcake liners in the color of terra cotta pots, and all I'm seeing are bright or pale orange, not the burnt orange I'm looking for.

The cupcakes will be vanilla with crushed chocolate cookie "dirt" on top, with flower and veggie/fruit decor on top.

thanks for any and all help.

Wilton has one called Orange Ombre that has a terra cotta color to it.

Bake it Pretty has a tomato red color that could work.

Etsy can be searched for terra cotta cupcake wrappers.

Another idea is to go ahead and pick up a few small terra cotta pots and bake your cupcakes directly into them.

Remember, too, that if you use a paper liner for the cupcakes, the colors may be a bit different once the color of the cake is baked; it may appear a slightly darker color than what comes out of the package.  An orange or red should be OK.

Good luck!!

AYou could cut your own wrappers. http://www.crazyforcrust.com/2012/05/flower-pot-cupcakes/ You can find any color paper in the scrapbook section of craft stores.

You could set them in real terra cotta pots?
