I need to bake a full sheet cake for wedding and i only have a half sheet cake pan. Can I put two together? And she wants it to be covered in fondant, I have never covered that big of a cake in fondant. Has anyone else, and can you give me some tips? The wedding is on sat, so I am in a little bit of a hurry. TIA, Keli

I put 2 11x15's together when I do a full sheet cake. I think if it were me...I would suggest a two tier cake. I would do a 12x18 with a 9x13 stacked on top. I think that would make it easier to cover with the fondant. I did a graduation cake this way and the customer was very pleased. Good luck!

Whew..that is going to be a huge piece of fondant and not too easy to handle no matter how much experience you have!! Rolling the fondant out on heavy plastic would be the easiest way to transfer it to the cake, but it's not going to be easy!

It's hard to imagine why someone would want something as informal as a sheet cake for a wedding yet as formal as fondant on top??? How is this going to be decorated??

I use (2) 12x18 for a full sheet. How many servings does she want? I can't imagine all that fondant, I'm worn out just thinking about it, good luckicon_smile.gif
