Hi everyone!
So I'm still trying to get use to the new baseball schedule and I just totally blanked out tonight that it was Friday. My phone died at the game and I didn't even think about an alarm after we got home again!
This week I was working on flowers for my Mother's Day Cupcakes. Here are some of them (about 2/3) from earlier in the week before final painting/shading. I'll take photos tomorrow when I actually make the cupcakes so you can see the finished products!
Hope everyone had a good week!

Lovely flowers!! That's my next job, have to get some practice in for poppies and roses :)
This weeks one is a simple sprinkles cake I have seen around. Thanks to the Greedy Baker for the tutorial. It's a 6" and 4" - and the 6" was getting donated to my son's school disco (he's 4!) As I'm trying to build up my portfolio I did the 4" dummy just to add to it.
I did crop the picture on my FB page and didn't leave the tape holding up my backdrop - haha!
Looking forward to seeing everyone else's stuff!
That is SO cute! I have used dummies before in order to boost up the design. People are always tickled when they find out it's not real cake! LOL!

AHELP PLEASE!!!! Hello can anyone help me with a cake batter disaster? So I'm making a cake batter that calls for yellow boxed cake mix... The batter looked beautiful until I pulled the cupcakes out of the oven and they flopped! I'm making "Harvey Wall Banger" cup cakes the recipe calls for 1 box of yellow cake mix, 1 box of instant vanilla pudding, 4 eggs, 1/2 cup oil and of course the alcohol... I doubled the recipe. I have only made this cake in a bundt cake pan it never flops! But today the cup cakes came out off the oven and flopped. When they were in the oven they were rising fine. IS THERE AWAY TO ADD SOMETHING TO THE BATTER TO HELP KEEP THE CAKE FROM FLOPPING ONCE OUT OF THE OVEN?
Just checking in for the week to say Hi. I'm on the other side of the country to normal and so not caking this week. I would like to announce, though, that I made chocolate fudge and passionfruit fudge, this week, and it was totally successful for the first time ever. I love fudge and try to make it once or twice a year and even though it tastes good I am never happy with the texture. This time it is fantastic. YES!

I'm so sorry, I'm no help as have never used box mix or pudding before...
If you used 15 oz. cake mix box instead of a 18 oz. box, that could be your problem. I made the Best Darn Chocolate Cake recipe once with one of the new 15 oz. mixes.; the results were very sad.
AThis is the first cake of the weekend. A bed topper made from RKT. I loved the little light!

Pasties,
Sounds like the levening is bad in that box. Start over with a new box and check the expiration date as well. Sorry this happened!

Cazza...those sound YUMMY! I make fudge each Christmas because that stuff is just dangerously good! LOL!
Cara!! What a great cake! I, too, love the light! Just awesome work!
And speaking of awesome work...Sweet Shop!!! LOVE that cake! I particularly adore how you did the cityscape. Inspired!
Texas, I just love rose cakes! One of the easiest techniques that looks absolutely wonderful every time. I love your yellow roses! Did you load your bag with each color separately or just not mix it up very well so you could get the variegated look? I love the way it looks.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
I'm off to make my cupcakes now!

Happy Saturday everyone!
I made a couple of Mother's Day cakes for the mom and mother in law, Other than that I made a cake for my niece who is in her 3rd year of veterinary school at UF. They had a coating ceremony yesterday so I made a vanilla bean cake with apricot and amarretto filling with SMBC and of course a fondant puppy and kitten. I was going to make a bow, but my hubby suggested a "bowne"
I must confess to being really surprised. We are celebrating Mother's Day here in Australia today and I thought that other countries held it at different times.
Cazza,
It appears that most countries celebrate it on the same date with other countries scattered between May and December. This is the link I found:

Happy Mommy's Day!

AHere was my cake from this week. It was for my boss at my day job, it was his 30th birthday so my team asked me to make a cake and my idea was to model it on his favourite pet. I wasn't 100% happy with it but he loved it and recognised his Mr Snuffles immediately!
Awww...puppy! I wouldn't have the heart to cut it up tho'. SO sweet (yes, pun intended! LOL!)
