Hey everyone!

This site is my new "addiction" next to pinterest! There is so much information and so many talented cake artists here, I am lucky to have found it. :-)

Question...I am going to be making a cake this weekend where I have to do a tiny bit of sculpting. Not a lot, but I haven't done any on my cakes so far and wasn't sure if anyone had any good tips on sculpting cakes or not??  All that I will be doing is shaping a rectangular sheet cake into looking like an xbox 360 console.

I appreciate any and all help!! Thanks a lot :-)

if i got the right picture of it when i looked it up--my question is --you gonna stand it up like that? it's just basically a three or four 'tier' cake--

i freeze my cakes when i sculpt--i like the firmness--

lots of people say "you can't put it back if you cut too much" sure you can -- it's cake--just slather on some icing like glue and slap on a piece of cake to fill the area and carve that --done it a thousand times--

have fun with it

I agree with K8…I freeze the cake before carving and get a really good bread knife. If your knife isn't good quality it will shred the cake, make a mess, and leave raggedy crumbly edges!
