AI read on Wilton's that a 2 inch 9x13 pan takes 7 cups of batter...a book I have and AllRecipes say 14 cups...which is accurate???
If you own a 9x13x2 pan, you can measure how much water it holds. That gives you the total pan volume. When you put cake batter in a pan, however, you do not fill it to the top. That might be the discrepancy you point out.
AThank you! I just got the new 9x13 cake pan in the mail so I will be measuring it soon...thanks!
A7 cups is accurate, the book you're referring to is probably saying 14 if you planned on doing two 9x13 double layered
