How Much Chocolate Should I Buy Plus Storing Issue

i need to make 36 chocolate lollipops i have these wedding cake lollipop molds that i am using. i need to also have a little extra chocolate on hand in case some of them don't come out or break during the process.
i usually buy a 2 1/2 pound bag of merkins melts when i do my cake pops but i wont be able to get to the one store that sells them where i live so i have to go to michaels and get the 12 ounce bags of melts.
i am not sure how many bags i would need they are 12 oz each
also i am making the pops tomorrow for Saturday how can i store them so they wont get soft or melt temps where i am now can be anywhere from high 40s to low 70s
ideally i would make the pops on Friday but i have to also make 36 cupcakes for saturday so i am doing those friday and the pops tomorrow
2 1/2 pounds is equal to 40 ounces, so that is the same as 3 1/3 bags of 12 ounces.
Storage at under 70 degrees should not be an issue. Just do them, and lay them out on parchment or waxed paper.
