To all of the long time members and quite a few new ones……..
I felt that I needed to start this thread to let you know how much you are appreciated and valued.
I started lurking on this site about three or four years ago, the fascinating cake gallery has become a welcomed addiction. While situating myself with this site, I discovered the old threads. I must say that in my free time, I spent hours upon hours reading them. They were like novels in some cases, comedy skits in others, and a bit of drama throughout. Very entertaining to say the least.
I feel like I know some of you personally from the things that I have read. But we all know that is not true, you like me, are only a user name that comments on a website. In the real world we wouldn't know each other from a can of paint. Yet we still come to this website of blended personalities like unique flowers coexisting in a vase that is Cake Central. Some are bold and bright, some are shy a demure, some are prickly unapproachable, and some are so beautiful and full of thorns but they are the members that make up this site and should be valued and appreciated for what they bring to it.
I know that I stepped on quite a few (leaves) toes when I finally discovered the forums and started posting. I saw quite a few post that were appalling to me, in hindsight I should have kept my mouth shut but I wouldn't have been staying true to myself and the person that I am. You know that show that puts people in certain situation to see how they will react. Did you see the one were the guy put a drug in the young woman’s drink in front of customers when she went to the ladies room? I would be the lady (Madea) who told her what he did and would have popped him upside the head if he denied it. I can’t help it, it’s in my nature. And sometimes it comes out when I post or start threads. If I offended anyone (9 times out of 10 I probably did). I am sorry. I thought I was offering my opinion in a vast variety of opinions and personalities among st CC members.
So to K8, Crazy Gray, Cotumeczar, James, Jason, howsweet, AZ couture, Mimi, Godot, Annabakescakes, DeliciousDesserts, Applegum pam, Iampam, nannycooks maise73, flourpot, thenerdybaker, the itailianbaker, shanter, pastrypet, thesugarflorist, nancylee, Dayti, morganchampayne, Indydeb, cupadee, and so many more. Just because I didn’t post your name doesn’t mean I didn’t notice or appreciate your contribution to the website.
Some of you have made me laugh, even cry. Some of you have made my day when I was in the dumps for whatever reason. Some of you have made me so angry that my head wanted to explode. I have learned so much and gained a lot of insight from CC and its members. I have grown as a person as well as a cake decorator and baker because of it.
Thank you for the diversity and knowledge that you ALL give to CC. Thank you K8 most of all. Because we did not see I to eye at all when I joined the forum. And you gave it to me cafeteria style and said “take it or leave it cake buddy”. I just wanted you to know that I took it.
So if I never post again (which would be a lie), I will be watching, reading, laughing, crying, pondering, learning, and spinning, spinning, spinning in my own little quiet corner as spiders tend to do, noticing (but never eating), and appreciating all the members that make up Cake central.
AI'm really sorry to see you go (as in not be so frequent) :( but I understand it. You always made me chuckle. One of the few people who use no tea no shade like me haha!! I know that there's a whole history here I don't understand so I won't comment on it. But you're alright with me, Enga
AThis is actually similar to what your friend K8 would post once a year or so, and she'd make sure everyone knew she was leaving in a dramatic fashion similar to this. If I get banned for this, it's ok. Been there, done that. But don't for a second think that anyone with common sense doesn't see right thru this attempt at pity gathering. Yeah, you've been outright rude to people, and stirred quite a few pots.
AIf you need medical attention, please seek it out. People on a forum on the internet aren't obligated to "make" you feel any way at all. Good luck in life.
Deja vu. I had not been online in almost a year until this week. I'm not surprised to find the same thing happening....since at least 2007. Sad really.

Well the new trend now is calling people bullies, and huffing up when someone doesn't give you what you want to hear. Oh, and a lot of entitlement attitudes too! I think the forum is just as helpful as ever, I try my best, but there is a LOT of BS. Lots of demanding of members to divulge exactly how do they things, apparently suggesting Google for people to help them find things is considered rude, you're supposed to Google for them and provide the answers; showing someone how to help themselves for future reference is just not ok I guess. Some people that don't own businesses jump into threads and chastise members for their opinions on they would handle tricky business situations, even though the replies and advice are spot on for...business people. Sometimes it's a mess. I try to clear up the junk when I can, and even asking for clarification regarding someone's reply or opinion is considered rude. Go figure. :(

Quite possibly, you could know some of these people from a can of paint, (or a milk carton in my case) as many of us have posted our photos here on CC. Some have shared their towns and the locations of their shops.
Some people are lucky enough to be able to drive to the conventions, classes, and competitions and do make the acquaintance of people here. Perhaps it would be pleasant and beneficial to post a photo and go out and meet in person when opportunity presents itself.

I don't think the lady is going anywhere.

I didn't see anything in the post about this being a so long farewell either.
OP- couldn't all of this been said in a PM to whomever you wanted to contact? I don't see the point of being so melodramatic and posting this publicly on a cake forum. Let's discus cakes/baking not feelings and egos being bruised.
AWhy yes, I do enjoy a nice pipe whilst wearing my heavy crown at tee ball games. :D

The closest I've gotten to a rave in the last 20 years or so was when I...no, wait, it was when...Oh yeah, it was that one time I was able to stay awake past 11:30pm one night in 1999.
