Here are pics of the cookie bouquets I'm offering this season! I already posted a pic of the individual cookies....and promised to post these when they were complete! I'm pleased with how they turned out!

Very nice! You should have no trouble selling these. Maybe you should worry about getting TOO MANY orders.

Thank you! The boxes are cardboard craft boxes (4x4x4) that I picked up at Michael's.

Those are very cute! Where did you get the boxer and corset cookie cuters from? Was it hard to decorate the boxers?

These are great. How far in advance do you make your cookies for the bouquets.

WOW, like GeminiRJ said, you should be concerned about getting too many orders! Those are outstanding. Great job on all of the little details, those take a lot of time! thumbs_up.gif

Very unique and creative. Do you cover the whole box and cookies with cellophane or individually wrap them? Can I ask how much you would charge for something like that? I am new and have no idea what something like that would be. Thanks.

Thanks guys! The cookies are iced with rolled buttercream, with royal icing details. The recipe is my own and took many months to perfect several years ago....it is not a recipe that I share as it belongs to my business, but I always recommend the NFSC on kitchengifts.com. I also posted pics of them in the cookie gallery with an explanation. I photograph them unwrapped to avoid camera glare and so the customer can see the details.....but I do wrap each individual cookie! I didn't want to pay an arm and leg for the cutters I wanted, so I made them....I also posted a thread in the cookie forum about that, along with pics. In my area (SW Ohio) I charge $18 for a 3-cookie bouquet, and $32 for a large 7-cookie bouquet. Each cookie is pretty large, about 5" in one direction or another!

Did you use an edible marker for the black outline and little hearts?

Her cookies look good. It looks alot like some of the cookies that Cookie by Design are offering this year. However, I find it some what selfish that she does not want to share her recipes with us. I thought this website was all about sharing ideas. It's not like we are going to be competing with her in home business. On another discussion she is participating about wanting details from some one who used to work at Cookies By Design. I find that some what disturbing.

She IS sharing - she posted pictures of her work. I don't see anything wrong her keeping her recipe secret. That's a common business practice. I'm sure she has spent a lot of time, money and energy developing her recipe and business. If she wants to keep a few trade secrets, I see nothing wrong with it - and she was even very polite about it, too. Thanks for sharing, Cambo.

I can already see this thread turning nasty. Cambo is a great CC member and has contributed a large assortment of information and knowledge. I think she has a right to not share her recipe, just as if you had a recipe that was passed down to you through generations and was a family legacy... would you want to share that recipe? Probably not. We all share and take in ideas/knowledge/what have you. That's what CC is all about. I agree w/Tscookies. Thanks for sharing, Cambo.

I'm so sorry if I offended you lilbkr, that was not by intent by sharing pictures of my work. There were a couple of other threads re. secrets with Cookies by Design, however, if you'll read my recent post, I defended those who have worked there and stated they are probably very loyal to their former employer and I would understand 100% if they wanted to keep that info to themselves, and I even posted it in a somewhat joking manner! Even if that recipe were shared IN FULL, I would NEVER EVER copy and use it for my business, as I don't think it tastes very good. With my own recipe I have gone as far to say that the base is similar to the NFSC, but I added/mixed various flavoring to get the taste I prefer. I think that's my right isn't it? As far as designs, we ALL look for inspiration here and elsewhere and as I also stated in that other thread, I think CbyD has a WONDERFUL business and their designs are absolutely beautiful. Others have PMd me and asked permission to use my designs, nearly to a T, and I'm more than happy to do that....and very flattered. I guess I can't satisfy everyone.

I would like to add just one more thing.....and it's only because I'm so hurt and saddened by what lilbkr wrote.....I think it's pretty sad that someone's VERY FIRST POST to CC is a criticism and attack of someone else's work. THAT is not what CC is about.

I agree with CAMBO, if you can't say nice things, please don't post. I personally don't like coming on feeling like the people I have developed great relationships on this site with are being attacked because THEY choose not to share their recipes! CAMBO is a GREAT friend of mine and any personal attacks against her are also against me. I know for a fact that CAMBO made her OWN cookie cutters and she even shared the how to method with us. I also know that she is not copying someone elses work, she may have gotten inspiration but I am sure there is no way an exact replica of CBD's work. CAMBO has been decorating for 16+ years and is very well established in our cake forum community and in her own community at home. We all get inspirations, there are many similar cakes/cookies and the like any MANY photo galleries... hence the favorites button.

Please take the time to re-read your post to CAMBO and offer some sort of apology, she deserves it. When people start getting attacked on this site, they pull out and I FOR ONE WOULD HATE TO LOSE ANY POSTS THAT SHE HAS TO OFFER........ just speaking for myself and not yelling!

Also, please remember that our site is meant to help others in our hobby/careers and not beat them down. I am hoping that your intent for this message wasn't to come accross as rudely as it did. Thanks for reading this!

Okay, with that being said, please lets get back to the original topic. icon_smile.gif

If anyone has any personal feelings to share and/or advice the new member about how they feel, please send her a PM. We don't want the thread to go downhill and then we have to end up closing.

Lets get the good info being shared flowing.

Thank you everyone.
