Well, I was there yesterday to buy merengue powder, so when this hit the news today my ears perked up.
You might just want to double check your credit card statement this month. My friend actually did have erroneous charges on her credit card after the Target security breach, so be sure there's no stray charges on yours this month if you've shopped at Michaels.

Yep, they got mine. Sometime in mid-February. The first charge was for a dollar menu item at mcdonalds, that's how they test the number. So they're finally confirming it? Took long enough...
ugcjill-- that's so interesting about the McDonald's charge...
I'll definitely watch my statement... I'm assuming it wasn't a problem to get the charges taken off?
AIt was inconvienient, but not difficult. Going though old statements was the hardest part... if you don't count the part about admitting that many of the fast food and liquor store charges were legitimate.
We have a Micheal's here and an AC Moore. I have always shopped at AC Moore. I have never gone to Micheal's so I am very glad now!! AC Moore gives a ten percent discount to those who have a military ID card. Another place that gives a ten percent discount for military is Lowe's and Home Depot. Thanks for the heads up about Micheal's. If I ever go in there I will remember to pay with cash.
After the first Michael's card number theft I stopped full stop using my bank card there. I go to the local market and buy a gift card and only use that. That way I don't have to be sure I have cash in my pocket and I am not using my bank card there.
My bank is really good at catching these things, and I keep a close eye on my accounts, but all these breaches are getting ridiculous.
