Ok guys was watching the news here and RITA is on her way to becoming a category 4 or 5. It apparently is going to hit the keys and parts of florida and then its on its way to Texas. Depending on how much of a nothern turn it makes it may hit parts of Louisiana as well. they are already evacuating Galveston and other coastal towns in Texas. Gets those prayers going please.

OH, my i heard about this on the way home from work today. At the rate these storms are turning up this year they will run out of names (i know not a good thing to say) They only have 6 more to go. That is just scary.

My thoughts and prayers are with anyone who is or may be in the path of this hurricane as it continues on it's path.

I am preparing just in case don't know where that thing is going yet just predictaments regardless it looks like we will probably be on the east side We are still having trouble with grocerys in our stores from Katrina so I know this week will difinetly be fun preparing, not to mention with the trees that didn't fall with Katrina they were good and loosened up so it will not take much for more to come down. Definitly will be watching this storm close, this has been a very active hurricane season!

And another problem is that hurricane season isn't over until the end of November!!!

The East side is the bad side to be in a hurricane. We really need to be careful during this one. I hope everyone who lives down on the Gulf Coast will be serious this time & evacuate! My Uncle & Aunt live in Lake Jackson, TX about 9 miles from the Gulf. They were visiting us this past weekend. They already said they are leaving so we are thankful for that!

Then the stupid Mayor of New Orleans let citizens back into New Olreans with Rita about to come... Then now he's saying, "DA I'm stupid" now turn everyone around!! Looser!! I blame him for the stuff that has happened there & now I blame him even more! Sorry.. I had to vent... again.. LOL!!

Wow! I just checked out weather.com. I hadn't heard about this one yet. I don't think we can take another major hit, but it's still pretty warm out in the gulf, so good chance it will strengthen, but who knows where it will make landfall. Wouldn't that be awful if it headed straight for Galveston and Houston, where over 250,000 evacuees from Katrina are still housed?

I guess I'll be praying about this one, too, but what do you say? Pray that it hits Corpus Christi instead? Low odds on it dissipating once it's in the Gulf, so somebody's gonna get it. I guess we can just hope we're more prepared this time.

I think everyone I know is going to be praying for Rita to pass with little or no damage. But living here in Southern CA, we've been talking alot about emergency supplies. I had a lot for Y2K, but a lot of it is past it's 'due date', but the sugar lasts forever (got LOTS of that). Anyway, I think I'm going to have to start seriously getting stuff together just in case our "big one" hits.

On a lighter note..... Do you know what a hurricane really is? It's a himmicane with a bad attitude.

Well I surely hope it will magically dissipate somewhere in the water on not on land. Prayer time again!

I'm praying the same thing Squirrelly.

Today's temps in Bossier City (where I am), LA. were 103 & that is NOT with the heat index added to it. Our weather man says the temps will be in the 100's through the weekend. That's not what we need! The heat hitting the gulf makes a more powerful hurricane. We need cool weather to back Rita away.

latest on our news has 4 out of 5 chance it will hit between houston and victoria. only one possiblity showed it hitting below corpus right on texas/mexico border. By tonight rita will be a hurricane and only getting stronger. The wearther men have said right now is only a guess where it will hit. IF it hits right on houston then we up in east texas will get alot of the rain and such that come along with it. I hope every one is getting to a safe place although it showed on the news pepole who got to go back to new orleans are now refusing to leave again. i cant believe it.

I just watched the weather at 10:00 p.m.... if an upper level high stays over us, it will turn towards Galveston.. if the upper level high moves away from us, it could cause Rita to turn directly towards us... it's still uncertain where this thing is going .. if it does hit the Texas coast, we're to the east of it so we will get rain/wind .. folks our people here are totally stressed out trying to care for and make sure the evacuees are fed and have their needs met.. I pray this thing doesn't head our direction as we have no place to send all of the evacuees .. this could be an even bigger disaster .. pray for us and all the Texas coastline!!

My dear late mother's name was Rita. Don't think she would like it if a hurricane with her name caused a lot of disaster!
Gosh you wouldn't have to tell me twice to leave New Orleans, I would be the first one out.
I feel for all of the folks in the wake of these storms. The worst warnings I have ever had to deal with is exposed flesh freezing in 15 seconds. Five feet of snow in one snowfall. The possibility of a heart attack from shovelling the snow before we got a snow blower. Icestorms falling trees. Freezing rain. Heavy fog. High humidity. Possibility of tornadoes, not like that happens very often, it is a freak thing where I have lived.
But nothing like major flooding. The possibility of drowning, those high waves would just terrify me.
Not like people can just pack up and leave everything behind and start over in another state when they get fed up with worrying about the weather. We get fed up with winter, but it isn't usually dangerous. Just annoying!
Must be really tough to live with.

Here in east texas we dont normally have to worry about hurricanes!!!!!!! We live really close to a lake. Thankfully it is really low right now or else we could be in trouble with flooding if we get to much rain. I am keeping a close eye on this one. I an heart broken over the peole who evacuated LA to houston now they have to find some where else to go. This is so depressing.

It is sad about the things that are happening in the world today, but Bible Prophecy WILL be fullfilled, unfortunatley this is part of it.

Cakes-r-us, You hit the nail on the head. I agree with you. Bible prophecy is being full-filled. Every day I see more. I just hope people open their eyes to see this before it's too late.

Ya'll keep praying!! I was thinking about the names of hurricanes last night. I would hate having a hurricane named Tina. Wow! That would be horrible!!

Everyone hold on... here we go again~
