Hello everyone! I want to make this cake for my son's first birthday (
You know, it is *VERY!* deceiving to guess the sizes of a cake - especially a 2 tiered one - just from seeing a pic on the screen.
I remember some time ago someone posting a pic and asking the same ?. Of course there were a dozen different answers some way BIG others smaller but as I remember no one guess the real size which was *very* small.
What you need to do is decide how much cake you need/want and go from there.

This is so true.
Well if you have ever used a Wilton's twist n turn, it's about 12 inches in diameter and the top tier was about 4 inches smaller than the turntable, she also measured the bark for the tree 4 inches by 20 inches. A 6" cake is 19 inches around, so I think it's safe to say that both reginaherrin and hmcakery were right.
AWe are having a small party of close family and a few friends. A 6" and 8" cake is plenty. Thanks for the help everyone. :)
