AHey guys! I'm new here and I believe this is my first post, though I have been lurking a lot!
I have tried the original wasc recipe a few times now and I'm totally hooked! ( I've thrown my original recipes away) the big problem I am having is pan sizes.
I have a stacked cake for next weekend and I'm very confused on how many boxes of mix and also how much batter for each of the pans.
The recipe is this http://cakecentral.com/a/the-original-wasc-cake-recipe
All my cakes are 4" tall and I'm looking to do a 10" , 8" and a 6" all in different flavours.
I believe the recipe says one box will make two 8" which is great. It's the other two sizes I'm very unsure of!
Can anyone help! Please
This website is amazing , keep up the great work!!!
Hi. So glad to hear you love my recipe:)
One recipe will fill two 8" rounds. One recipe will fill one 10 *and* one 6" round.
I prefer the look of a 6" top tier to be only 3" tall so if they don't bake up all the way to the top I don't mine:)
What I did was fill the 10" pan 2/3rds full first, then whatever batter was left went into the 6"er.
So you make the recipe 3 times. The 1st one fills the two 8"ers; the 2nd recipe fills one 10 & one 6 then you repeat that making your 2nd layer of the 10 & 6.
Hope that's clear as mud! :)
