AHas anyone ever taken any painting classes with the intentions of bettering their cake decorating? I'm thinking of possibly doing it to help with small details and stuff. I'd most likely do the ones offered by Michaels - has anyone ever tried these? I don't want to waste time and money if it's not really going to help, I'd rather invest it somewhere else.
Thanks in advance :)
This is a great question. I was looking into taking one as a continuing education but I was not sure if it would help much because I can't paint at all.
AHow are you with online classes? Craftsy has a fine arts section that's really pretty awesome. I've Taken a couple and they were good
I've taken two drop in classes. It helped a LOT. I have never painted in my life but wanted to start toying with painting on cake so I thought it would be good to get some instruction on technique, etc. They explained a lot of things about layering colors that I never would have known about otherwise. I haven't actually taken the skills to a cake yet, but I feel more confident about doing so now! And I now have two pretty pieces of art for my home :)
I'm booked in to do an 8 week class starting at the end of April. The reason is I wanted to paint on a cake, and technically I understand how to do it, but I don't have the painting skills.
Painting classes are the best place where you can learn various painting styles and also know different art forms. In the painting classes you can implement numerous deigns and share your thoughts within your painting. Its a best way to express your love and concern towards your loved ones.
There is currently a free class on line with Craftsy on how to paint cakes specifically. Worth trying out before paying for a class maybe.
