AEvenings all, I have a wilton rolling pin which I bought a few years ago and it's started to go, well, hairy! It's like the fibres are starting to come away from the main body - has anyone seen this before? Any idea if there's a way to fix it? Or is it time to get a new pin? :-( it's very strange.... Many thanks :-)

Another vote for new pin. fwiw I have 4 PME ones that are all older than that (4 years maybe?) And are all pretty much perfect (apart from one that may or may not have a gauge in it from being dropped from a height....it has no hair though.)

I've been having the exact same problem with my small Wilton rolling pin! I thought I was nuts!

Mine is fuzzy and I kept thinking it was dirty and kept cleaning it and cleaning it, but its only gotten worse. I have absolutely no idea why its doing that or how to fix it; just glad to hear I'm not the only one.

New pin it is then - thanks everyone!  Feeling slightly gutted as I'd hoped this was one of those expensive purchases which would last the rest of my caking life but alas...  Will probably try the PME one next time around.  The main reason I bought the Wilton one was so i could use their spacers but never actually did in the end.

On the flip side, at least I have an excuse to spend more time on websites 'researching' ;-)

@Gingerlocks- nope - not just you ;-)  A friend asked if I had put it in the dishwasher but sadly I don't own one!

Thanks again!
