Hi! I have a bride who wants a chocolate cake, chocolate filling with chocolate or mocha frosting for the wedding cake.

But she also wants the frosting to be sand color!

I think it would be easier with the mocha buttercream, so anyone has a light color recipe for that?

Or do you think I can add some white food color to light it up?

Thank you!

I'd add a bit of cocoa powder and see what you get.  You could also add a few tbs of coffee.

Could you add white dye to lighten it up?

AI suggest a pale chocolate frosting with cinnamon to give it a sand look. Cinnamon tastes great with chocolate.
