Edible Glitter On Leopard Painted Fondant Cake?
Decorating By DaLush Updated 26 Mar 2014 , 9:17pm by maybenot
Hey Everyone,
I have a cake order coming up and the customer just asked if she could have edible glitter. The problem is that after hand painting the leopard print on the cake she wants glitter on the spots.... I know the alcohol and the in the paint mixture will dry fast but is there a way to apply the glitter to the spots without messing up the painting? I don't know if using piping gel over the spots will work to apply the glitter... any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestion, maybe I'm wrong but isn't the glitter water soluble and will just end up sticking to the brush?
I'm not to familiar with edible glitter and not sure if I should even attempt after painting on the spots.

Yes, the edible glitter will dissolve in water.
I've gotten it to stick on the top of a cake after spraying it with Ever clear or vodka, but the sides of the cake are in issue.
I think a dab if corn syrup or piping gel could work, but I'd practice it both ways.
