I have a customer (also a BYU alumni - as on cake attached), who is asking me to make a similar cake to the one attached. This cake is on cake central but I am having difficulty locating it to ask the artist how she did this technique.

The cake I am making is going to be a beach scene, spiraling up to a lighthouse and I am very confused on how to make the spirals. I have looked at several pictorial tutorials which demonstrate the toothpicks, but could someone please walk me through it?

I really do appreciate it!

Thanks!

Tracey

I found this website helpful for suggestions on how to do a spiral cake. You should probably practice before you do the cake because if you mess up one cut the whole cake will look wrong. That's brave taking on a cake you have no idea how to execute! Good luck!
