Does anyone know of a way to make a realistic zipper for a purse cake?

When I made one ages ago I pressed a real (brand new out of the package) zipper into a piece of fondant then trimmed around it...you can see it here: https://www.facebook.com/250240051794447/photos/pb.250240051794447.-2207520000.1395455252./250859351732517/?type=3&permPage=1

To get an even more realistic one now, I would make a mold...I wouldn't spend money on mold-making materials either, I would use gumpaste or fondant + tylose and press a zipper into it, let it dry firm and use it to mold a cool zipper.
