Good Morning

Ok I am having a bit of a nightmare with a potential client. We originally discussed having a half sheet ; 2 layer cake for her daughter's grad cake.I priced it correctly; and then she said she thought I had told her my cakes were $ 1.00 per person ( ummmmm not so much!)

So she originally agreed to a half sheet at my pricing. Now I just received another message that she wants the half sheet shaped like a book with pages; and a scroll and a grad cap, and " would this be the same price?" ( ummmm NO! )

So I broke it down what the costs would be for a custom designed cake ( as this is what it is)

I have not heard back yet; but I know a problem is waiting to happen. Over the last 2 days this client has messaged me over a dozen times; with different requests and I just KNOW no matter what; she will not be happy with my cakes no matter what the price is.

Long story short; what would you all charge for a book themed cake in a half sheet size?

Also; any ideas on how I can politely decline to do this cake??

Thank you all for your input and letting me vent :)

Cathy

ATell her you are now fully booked for that date.

Tell her that you don't think you can make her happy so it's best that she looks elsewhere.

I agree, she sounds like way too high maintenance and will be the type to request a refund after the event because she was unhappy with the cake. If she has not paid a deposit to secure her date I would become "booked" and would be unable to take her order.
