In Need Of A "perfect" Versatile Scratch Vanilla Cake Recipe For Carving And Weddings.

AI am in need of a new versatile vanilla cake recipe. I need to find one with great flavor and texture, but that is also sturdy enough to stand up to carving or to use for tiered wedding cakes.. I did a search but am finding mixed reviews and feeling slightly overwhelmed at all the choices. I thought about trying Woodland Bakery's Golden Vanilla Cake. Do any of y'all have a recipe that you love for this sort of thing, and would you mind sharing? If you have tried the Woodland Bakery one, what were your thoughts? TIA!!
I like these two cakes. Tasty, moist, good crumb:

Of the two I prefer the second (Carole Walter's), but they're both very good.
