AI would like to start off by saying I'm self taught and only do cakes for family and friends, and if it wasn't for all the wonderful help and complete kindness from all you fantastic people on cake central, I would be lost... With that being said, I'm making a 3 tier topsy turvy cake for a friend (6", 8" 10") fully covered in fondant. Apparently I'm an idiot as lay 1st attempt at a topsy turvy cake, I stacked it wrong...haha.. My question is, what are the best dowels to use? Should I use the wooden ones or the plastic wilton ones? The cake is going to travel about 40 miles.
