AHi all

I'm doing a 5 tiered wedding cake shortly, my question is should I assemble the cake at the venue? Or at home??

The cake itself will be as follows; 14" foamy- covered in fondant 12", 10" and 8" mud cake covered in chocolate ganache and decorated with fondant 6" tier will be a foamy

Anyone who has delivered a cake successfully assembled in this sort of height bracket, how did you do it ?!

Any tips would be great

AMy first thought is to take the three real tiers stacked, and the foam ones in hand and stack them all together on site. You could probably add the base tier to it, but a 4 tier cake wouldn't fit in my car, so I've never done it.

I never assemble my cakes at home, unless its 2 tiers. I always do it at the venue to be on the safe side, you never know what could happen.

AIf the venue allows you to get in at a decent time then certainly stack onsite. That's my preference, too. I rarely get to do that anymore because of multiple deliveries on Saturday
