My husband makes them out of RKT or just a big chunk of fondant depending on what we have available. He just puts a long wooden skewer through it to attach it to the cake.

I made this cake recently (with a twist to celebrate the launch of a new locksmith business). Ignore my rubbish fondant covered cake as I still have problems with that but I just modelled the fist from a solid ball of fondant with a tiny bit of CMC added. It was quite heavy by the end but it was the easiest way from the ones I tried. I then used a cake pop stick through the fist and into the cake (and one through the fist to hold the key in place but you obviously don't need that). It wasn't too hard to mould so I'd say that was probably you're best bet.

AI made this fist using modelling chocolate and attached to the cake with wooden skewers.

AWhat do you usually charge? And how many servings of cake does she need? A 5 7 9 is already pretty dang big, and serves 50 people. So...how do you usually calculate your costs and figure out what you need to charge in order to make a decent profit?

AI'm not a profressional I'm just starting out. I normally work out what ingredients cost me and then add some on but never seems to be a great deal
