Does anyone know if SugarVeil mats can be used with Cake Lace product or visa versa? I've purchased Cake Lace product/mats but see a SugarVeil mat I LOVE for an upcoming project.
Can anyone answer this for me?
Funny, I emailed the shop which sells both last week before buying some as I had the same question and the answer is yes :-) At least, you can use the cake lace product on sugarveil mats (I'm not sure about the other way around). It worked a charm but with the mat I have, I found that the product made a lot more lace than the instructions said. The instructions said it made on average 2-sheets worth...I got 4.5 sheets worth out of it! :-) I think generally the cake lace designs are much deeper so take more of the product. Cake Lace is awesome stuff!!!
I had the same dilema...I loved the idea of cake lace (I've worked with sugarveil before and it wasn't so fun!) but I'm not so keen on their mats. I have the Mantilla mat and it was fine, you just have to make sure you really get the icing into all the grooves as they are a lot narrower then the cake lace ones :-)
