AWould I do better to continue buying the boxed cake mixes or does anyone have a cheap, but good cake recipe? Thanks!

AI've just been buying ingredients and stocking up while they're on sale. I usually make one practice cake a week. I'm just starting out, so I'm trying out new recipes until I find the ones I want to stick with. I think a good tasting cake is just as important as a beautiful one. May as well practice on the yummy factor. ;)

AAny of the recipes from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World are fantastic (or any dessert recipe by Isa Chandra Moskowitz for that matter). Some recipes call for flax meal, and if you don't already have that you can sub with eggs (1T flax + 3T liquid = 1 egg) and you can sub dairy milk for soy milk, but other than that I think most all of the ingredients are things people usually have in their baking cabinets.
