Home Bakers: Good "blurb" For Clients Re Price?
Business By lrlt2000 Updated 6 Mar 2014 , 3:22am by nancylee61
I'm looking for a blurb for clients to put on my website about why they should pay more for home-baked. Anyone have a link to one or have one they'd like to share (either for me to direct link, or just for my summary)?
AWhy do you think they should? What makes it better in your opinion? You can't just have someone write something for you, it's supposed to be your thoughts and your beliefs. We can proofread it, but ultimately it's your baby....
Don't say anything about "you should pay more because." Just say what makes your cakes good...organic, all-natural, no mixes, whatever your sales pitch is. Make people think your product is valuable and they'll be willing to pay more without you telling them they should.
Oh, also, don't copy other people's text. I've had more than one website taken down when people took text off of mine and wouldn't take it off.
Agree with the above comments, dot some points down why your cakes are amazing and why someone would want to buy from you. Include something along the lines that all your cakes are baked from scratch (if they are), you use quality/premium ingredients, cakes are competely customised, & that price is dependant on the number of people to feed and the intricacy of the design. You might have a starting price for your 1, 2 and 3 tier cakes & the final price depends on a number of factors (numbers to feed, design, delivery etc).
AThe niche I'm aiming for when I get better is the way I bake now: all natural, mostly organic, never use mixes or Crisco/shortening. If you do use mixes/Crisco, etc, then you would aim for something else - beautifully decorated, flowers so realistic you"ll catch your friends trying to see what they smell like, etc
The most important part of marketing yourself, in my view, is to have a clear view of what makes you special. And then find ways to explain it succinctly. Nancy
