How Do I Make A Collar For A Shirt Cake?
Decorating By SweetCreativity Updated 11 Feb 2014 , 8:11pm by FlourPots
I am looking to make a POLO cake this week, but I am not sure how I go about constructing the collar using fondant. I bought a 10 x 2 square pan for the foundation, it's just the collar I am not to sure about. Help please
I haven't tried this myself, however I saw a photo where saran plastic wrap was wound up into a thick rope and curled into a semi circle, then the fondant collar was put over it and shaped for drying. Can't remember where it was on the internet or I'd send you there for a look.
here's one thought--

Thanks. I have seen that one... still looking around for more ideas. I did save that image though.
I realize this is a bit different kind of collar but am happy to explain how I did this one:
I used a mix of gumpaste fondant so it would hold shape.
I looked around the kitchen until I found something the right size. For me, it ended up being a small container of fondant. I wrapped the fondant around the side and brought in front and placed it exactly how I wanted it to look.
Here's an exceptional tutorial at a VERY reasonable price: https://www.facebook.com/theroyalbakery/app_251458316228

I have it and LOVE it.
Here's another tutorial...it's for a dress shirt, but you may find the way they pieced the cake together helpful...I'm not sure: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=495908508976&set=a.495906293976.254758.116951188976&type=3&theater
