I am hoping to get some opinions please. I created a design for a client and they approved it. Now that the date is almost here I am looking at it again and I am not liking it. It was based off a picture they provided. The top tier must stay the same...it is what they asked for. Now that I am looking at it again I'm not sure what I was thinking! The middle tier is too similar to the top. I'm thinking maybe I should just flip the bottom and top tier? I am also thinking I don't want to do all white. What if I did the bottom tier in the hot pink with black damask and black edging and the middle tier white with pink trim and the stickers. Or pink with white trim and put the stickers on the board?? Or do I just leave it? Ugh I am so stuck for some reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Oh I am not the best at sketching so please excuse my terrible drawing!)

If the client approved the design, just leave it.  No sense messing with what they want, and no sense getting yourself frazzled in a re-design.  I also think that the design is pretty.  Black damask would be too busy with the zebra print on top IMO.

AI like your sketch; no excusing needed! I think it would be fine if you left it as it, but honestly, the first thing that I thought when I saw it was that it would be better if the pink trim on the bottom tier and the black trim on the middle tier were switched. The reason being just what you said, the top two are too similar. I wouldn't change anything else though. :)

Yes, that's a nice drawing.  If you change your design on paper, would you have to get it re-approved by your customer. What are the chances that they'd take your drawing and compare it to your cake and complain that it's way off your written agreement.

This design may actually be a replication of their own personal luggage.  Good Luck here.

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate the advice!! As you wish...the middle tier is supposed to have a pink damask pattern on it...I was thinking of putting that on the bottom tier too so that I don't have 2 patterns together or do you think it would look ok if I left it on the middle and just changed the trim?

Thank you...I plan on checking with them first but I suspect they won't mind. It's the same overall just a small change. The picture they provided was another cake they found online. I copied the top tier because they wanted that exactly. The rest I changed.

ASorry, I missed the pink damask part before; I was on my phone. I would switch that to the bottom tier too, so it is with the black trim. :)

Thank you! It is always helpful to have someone verify what I already know! Always second guessing myself...one of these days I hope I will have more confidence!!!
