Hi. I'm making a baby shower cake for a friend this weekend. The cake I'm making is here:

There will be 50 people in attendance, so I was thinking I would use a 14" cake for the buggy with 8" wheels. When I put the pans out on a cake board, it looks huge to me. Almost silly big. I then looked at it with a 12" buggy and 6" wheels. I'm now at a loss, which should I do???? If I do the 12" buggy I could do a sheet cake to make up the additional servings. Could someone give me their opinion? Is 14" too big????
Thanks!
Christina
CWR, Thank you for replying. I don't think I was clear in my question. What I want to know is this...is the cake optically too big? Would a 14" look funny or even ridiculous? Would going smaller be better and then do a sheet cake too?
Thanks again!

IMO, no, no, and no.
Don't forget, you'll be carving it too. the pans always look bigger than the finished product.
Please post a picture of your cake once you make it. I think the cake picture of the baby buggy is too cute!!!! Good luck, I am sure it will come out fine!!!!
So, I did it! I was nervous, but it turned out fine. Mission accomplished and Picture posted!
