AWondering if anyone can help me please. I want to make the rug in the attached picuture and was wondering if anyone has any ideas where to start. I did PM the maker of the cake but I haven't had a response

AIt looks to me like fondant rope that's been wound around itself. Not totally sure though, but that's what I'd do!

yeah it sure does look like that.  and what a cake it is, although it's from 2009 I sure hope this decorator is out there making more gorgeous cakes.:grin:
