trouble with decorating fondant weddingcake

Hey fellow cake decorators!

I have a bit of a problem: I am supposed to make a four tiered wedding cake for my brothers wedding. I am not a total beginner but no expert either.

They want it to look like this http://www.wholeblossoms.com/wedding-flowers-blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Floral-wedding-package-3.jpg

trouble is the decorating of the fondant, this is piped on the cake (right?) but as I read you are not supposed to put royal icing in the fridge. I need to get the cake ready one day before the wedding and to the venue so it will sit in the fridge over night! There also wont be enough time on the wedding day to pipe on the icing.

My question is: How and with which material can I create such a thin and delicate design on the cake without using royal icing and preferably without having to pipe it on as I havent really done that before and therefore dont feel very confident doing it on such an important cake.

I would be so glad if anyone could give me some advice!

Thanks a lot
Sophie

I've piped black royal icing onto white fondant and kept in the fridge with no problems.  If I put royal icing decorations on buttercream, my RI breaks down . HTH

You can put fondant and royal icing in the fridge. It might get sticky when you take it out, but if you don't touch it and let the condensation evaporate as the cake warms up it will look fine. If you touch it when it has condensation on it you'll leave marks on it, so resist the temptation.
