I purchased a box of the Cake Boss Divine white cake mix today and I was wondering if anyone here had tried it yet. I thought about just making it the way on the box but was wondering if it could be doctored up even though it comes with a packet of pastry crème.  It is supposed to make a 2 layer 8 or  9 inch cake but I am wondering if it will be a full 2" high. The pans I have are 9" round and 2" high. I was also wondering if the cake mix extender would work with this cake mix. On the back of the box it saids it is made by Dawn foods.

I went ahead and made the cake and decided to add an extender to it

;

what I made was
:

1 box cake boss divine white cake mix

1 cup cake flour

1 cup sugar

4 eggs

3/4 cup of oil

1 cup milk

1/2 cup water ( I ran out of milk)

I still only had enough for 2 9" round pans. Here are pictures of the layers cooling.
