AI have been doing cupcakes for a couple years and have just started doing cakes. This may be a dumb question but what is the best box to transport in? Somebody mentioned boxes from Walmart on another thread but not sure exactly what to get. I need options for both 3 and 2 tiered cakes. Also, in your opinion, what is the best way to "anchor" your cakes? I have heard of several different methods but unsure what really works. Tia!

Fort support - SPS!  You won't be sorry.  Just build the cost into the price of the cake.

Office boxes from any office supply store.  Tape up both ends, stand the box on its end, and open up the tall side like a "drawbridge."  Slide the cake in and tape it up.  It will make more sense when you have a box in front of you.

I have to transport my first cake in a few weeks and I couldn't make heads or tails of all the threads here describing how to build the box- LOL. I guess I'm more of a visual person. I haven't tried the SPS only because I'm not a professional baker and haven't yet had a reason to invest in one, but from what I've read here, it's pretty awesome.

Anyway, I found this video on youtube and found it very helpful. I am going to follow it to transport my cake. Thank you Costumeczar!
