Hi there! I have been asked to decorate cakes for a local bakery. (Small town, new business). The owner will be providing icing, pastry bags, and obviously making the cake. So all I have to bring are my supplies & myself. I am unsure how much to charge her. Should I ask for a certain percentage of a cake or a flat hourly fee or per cake? I can't decide.

I appreciate any and all input.

Thanks!

R

wishing you success in your venture and hopefully it will open new doors for you in your decorating. There are several Decorators here that have done what you're doing who may pitch in with advise.  Good Luck.

Cheers,

From your description it sounds like you are classified as an employee not a self-employed contractor. So you probably need to negotiate an hourly wage.
