Hello here,

A silly question, have you ever tried to cover your cake with IMBC and then add the details such like flower, letters, stars, heart etc in fondant? if so, are there any chances for the fondant details to sink in the IMBC?

I'm asking this because I want to make a basketball shirt in IMBC and then add the details in fondant. I find the fondant to be more practical and cleaner than IMBC when it comes to details like this. Another reason for me to ask this, is because IMBC its way different than regular BC in terms of consistency.

Also, Do you have any suggestion for me on how to do the letters, numbers and logo??  I really don't want to mess up. This is my first time making a cake like this

Here is a pic of what I want to make.

Thanks a lot.

It works on American Buttercream, and Swiss Meringue Buttercream, so it probably would.

I did a cake in SMBC (not IMBC) and had no problem adding fondant details. I did have to be careful when applying the details, as the could sink a bit into the frosting. But it wasn't too difficult. It came out just fine :) I would say it definitely can be done. Good luck!!!
