AHello all!

I have an upcoming order for a birthday cake to serve 80 people, I looked on Wilton's website to see what size rounds I should use to get the right amount of servings but I feel like their cake chart is a tad unrealistic, I would hate for the cake to get cut wrong and someone be shorted their piece of cake!

On that note, does anyone have any insight on what size rounds I should be using, how many tiers, ect. :grin:

The chart is really rather right on :)  The 'industry standard' of a serving is 1"x2"x4" OR a 2"x2"x2" cube.  If the customer wants to serve bigger pieces, then let them order a larger cake and therefore pay more :)

I have made thousands of cakes and mostly used the Wilton Chart. I only had a single time where they ran out of cake, and it was because they ordered 180 servings for 300 people. 

In my experience people are serving smaller slices than the standard serving size. I do have a cake buddy who said her aunt served the wedding cake and cut slices as big as her head, but this isn't the norm.

AEvery single cake thst goes out my door gets instructions and a cutting chart.

ADoes the customer not have an idea of how many tiers they'd like? If they're expecting a single tier and you rock up with a stacked cake/they expect 4 and you do 2 etc you're going to have a problem.
