I am making a 50th wedding anniversary cake for my in-laws this coming week and want to make one of the tiers gold.  I have Duff spray "paint" gold, Duff airbrush gold, gold luster dust - what is the best one to use?  Should I colour the fondant a yellowy colour before I put the gold on?  Are there any tips or tricks I should know?

Thanks!

I generally color it a pale golden yellow first, then kind of sponge paint luster mixed with alcohol on to the fondant, then once the base color is dry, I use a blush brush to brush on dry luster for the metallic shine and to even it out. Good luck!
