Need some advice on this please - urgent!!

Hello!!

We just heard about a critically ill boy in our community and all the neighbors have been scrambling to get things together to donate for his family so they have a great Christmas.

He loves Monsters Inc, and I thought making him a 3D cake like the picture below would be a great idea to cheer him up and bring a smile to his face. I need to make this tomorrow!!

Do you think this cake can be made with the 3D Wilton teddy bear pan? Any advice on how to get the shape of the head, legs etc please?? Thank you so much!

good call--first thing i thought of--not sure if it will work but maybe take one ear and make it the lower lip there?

my cookies are prettier than your cookies because this is the second time i substituted my opalescent sanding sugar when i ran out of sugar to make the batch ha!

good idea.  Rice Krispie treats might work for the arms as well.

My first thought was the bear pan also. You can use the grass tip to fill in with the icing.  Let us know how it goes!! Good luck!!!

Thank you! So do you think adding extra cake for the arms and legs will work? Don't have time for RKT... I'd really like it to be all cake  :)

Just not sure about the large head..... :-/ Any ideas??

i don't know what the monster's profile is for sure nor which bear pan you have--you might have to stick legs out there for one of the pans--

you probably will have to lop off the ears and might have to cut a chunk out for the forehead--but mostly you can get there with the decoration--the big shaggy piping using a grass tip--

you might need to build a little cake up into where his arms go then just pipe over it--

maybe cut out or build up the shoulders--can't tell for sure just depends on the pan etc.

i carve my cakes frozen--just saying --

and avoid putting detail in the cake part--you get the detail with the icing--

you're just going for silhouette at this point--

you got this!
